[SAGE] Network Analyzers

I'm looking at network testers/sniffers for $ORK, and am interested in
experiences others have.

What we need is a portable device that we can plug in to various places,
do some online testing, and use to collect traffic for a while for later
analysis down to a pretty low level. Actually, we'll probably get two.

I know a couple of the higher-end Fluke devices, for example, can do this,
but what else is out there that's worth looking at?

We need something that can handle copper and fiber, up to gigabit
connections, and hopefully be able to plug into a span port on a Cisco
switch (we use a few models of those).
